what to expect

Park Lake Provincial Park is set around an irrigation reservoir built in 1929, creating the perfect backdrop for one of Alberta’s first provincial parks. Established in 1932 thanks to the popularity of its sandy beach and water sport opportunities, Park Lake remains a favourite retreat for local residents and a refreshing stop for travelers. Today, the reservoir continues to supply water to thousands of acres of southern Alberta farmland. Together with the surrounding wetlands and prairie landscape, it provides essential habitat for migrating and breeding birds, diverse wildlife, and notable plant species.
