Dry Island Buffalo Jump is a secret gem in the Alberta Parks system. Located near Trochu, Alberta, the Park offers breathtaking scenic views of the Red Deer River Valley. A favorite spot for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers, the area boasts over 150 different species of birds, from warblers to turkey vultures! As you drive along the flat prairies towards the park entrance, you will start to see the massive river valley to the north. There is a parking lot and interpretive signage here, along with fantastic views of the valley. The name of the park includes two unique geological features: a buffalo jump and a dry island.
