what to expect

Located right along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, Horburg Provincial Recreation Area is a water adventurer’s paradise. The park features a hand launch for canoers and kayakers. The river trip to Rocky Mountain House takes approximately four hours. Visitors attempting this river journey must be prepared and knowledgeable about river paddling and water safety. Many campers take advantage of the proximity to Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trails. While we encourage using the campground as a base, please note: off-loading or operating OHVs inside the campground is strictly prohibited. OHVs must remain on trailers until they reach the nearby trail systems and staging areas. Be advised that the roadway heading into the Recreation Area requires a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle. …
