The McLeod River Provincial Recreation Area provides an idyllic camping experience in a unique river valley setting. Located only 23 km southeast of Hinton on the Robb Road. Walking trails meander along the riverbank, and the McLeod River Silviculture Trail provides an beautiful interpretive walk or mountain bike ride beneath a canopy of tall spruce forest. The park provides a lovely Day Use Area along the babbling river with a backdrop of sandstone cliffs. Fire pits and picnic tables are provided for a fun family getaway near the water. Keep your eyes on the sky to spot bald eagles who hunt and nest in this river valley. Fish for rainbow trout, eastern brook trout, whitefish and bull trout in McLeod River.
